Volunteer - Shop Assistant

Role: SHOP ASSISTANT
Dept: Appeals & Marketing
Where: One of the Ulster Cancer Foundation Charity Shops
When: As arranged with Shop Manager
Commitment: As arranged with Shop Manager
Duration: Ongoing

Purpose of role:

To assist in the smooth running of the charity shop and help to raise funds for the work of UCF.

Responsibilities and Duties:

To help ensure that all donations of clothes and household goods are sorted, priced, displayed and sold according to shop guidelines and to help provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for customers.
Volunteers will be working as part of a team and will be expected to be punctual, to co-operate with others and fulfil tasks according to instruction.

Skills/ Qualifications needed:

This role is suitable for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working with the public. Volunteers do not need previous retail experience.

Training Provided:

Induction training will be provided along with guidance and instruction on all aspects of the role.

Reports to:

Shop Manager/ Volunteer Co-Ordinator

Other:

This role is a great opportunity to make friends, learn new skills and gain retail experience while supporting UCF.
