Volunteer - FAQs

Who can Volunteer?

Anyone over the age of 16 can volunteer with UCF, although if you are under 18 we will require written permission from a parent or guardian.

Ulster Cancer Foundation is committed to the principles of equal opportunity and diversity and volunteers are welcome from all sections of the community and from all backgrounds.

UCF will endeavour to match volunteers to roles according to their particular interests and aptitudes.

How much time do I need to give?

You can volunteer for as little as a couple of hours per week.
The commitment you give will depend on the volunteer activities you choose and you will have the chance to fully discuss each activity before taking part.

What training and support will I be given?

Every volunteer will receive induction training and be provided with the necessary training and information to carry out their role.
You will be supported by an allocated member of staff and the Volunteer Co-Ordinator.

Will my expenses be paid?

“Out of pocket” expenses incurred as a result of volunteering will be reimbursed according to the UCF expenses guidelines.

How do I apply to become a Volunteer?

It’s easy to become a UCF volunteer. All you need to do is click on the link to our application pack and complete the forms.
OR if you want to know more before you decide you can fill in our enquiry form or contact Morag on 9068 0773.

Will I be interviewed?
