Zest for life is a free, 6 week programme facilitated by UCF Counsellors Mavis Duggan and Paula Brogan and designed for anyone dealing with a cancer diagnosis. It is particularly aimed at patients who have come to the end of their cancer treatment and who would now like to look to the future and to getting on with life. The course will run for 6 Friday mornings from 10.30am - 12.30pm and commencing Friday 16 April 2010.
The basis of this programme is personal development, with a strong emphasis on making lifestyle changes to enhance physical and mental health. Sessions will include topics like goal setting, understanding and managing stress, identifying personal values and needs, encouraging positive thinking, relaxation techniques, healthy eating, complementary therapies and exploring the long term benefits of physical exercise.
