Ulster Cancer Foundation Services - Driving Service

We are currently piloting a new service offering free transport for patients who have no access to their own transport and have a short term need to travel to cancer specific medical appointments.

Many cancer patients have difficulty travelling to hospital appointments for various reasons and if the patient has to share hospital transport their appointment day may take much longer. For patients who are feeling unwell and fatigued the experience just adds to the trauma and prolongs recovery.

This service is being piloted in the South Eastern Health Trust Area - Down, Lisburn, North Down and Ards area.

Patients wanting to use the service must register with UCF by getting their health care professional or social worker to complete a registration form on their behalf.  Once registered, patients can pre-book drivers in advance for their appointments.

For more information on this service please contact Morag Chambers on 9068 0773 or email moragchambers@ulstercancer.org

An information leaflet and referral form can be downloaded by clicking on the related links section
