Campaigns - Breast Cancer Awareness
Every year our Think Pink! campaign runs during October, breast cancer awareness month.
Our month-long campaign, sponsored by MediCare Pharmacy Group, with support from Clarins, will continue to increase awareness of breast cancer and its signs and symptoms, while raising much needed funds to help local women with breast cancer.
Breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer in local women. More than 1,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and annually around 300 die because of the disease. In recent years, due to increased awareness and early detection, more women are being accurately diagnosed with breast cancer. However, the good news is that, with the help of education campaigns such as ours, survival rates are steadily improving. Today, there are around 7,000 women with a diagnosis of breast cancer living in Northern Ireland.
Think Pink! Appeal Boxes
To increase awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for the campaign, UCF Think Pink! appeal boxes filled with sparkly lapel badges, pink combs and pink nail files will be positioned at MediCare pharmacy stores across Northern Ireland as well as other outlets. You can show your support by purchasing an item for a minimum donation. Alternatively, if you would like to order a Think Pink! appeal box to position in your workplace where colleagues can purchase items, please contact Maeve Fox at UCF on 028 9068 0761 or email maevefox@ulstercancer.org
Fundraising for the Think Pink! Campaign
You could hold a fundraising event in aid of UCF such as a pink themed party, a coffee morning serving pink buns or a dress in pink day - all you have to do is Think Pink!
If you would like advice or support to help you organise a Think Pink! fundraising event please call our experienced fundraising team today on 028 9066 3281.
What is the money raised spent on?
Breast cancer has a phenomenal, and often life-altering impact, on the patient as well as their family and friends. We provide a range of support and services which can make this time of extreme stress a little more bearable and help to improve quality of life. Services are provided free of charge, thanks to the support and contributions from local people and communities. All the money raised for UCF is spent here in Northern Ireland.
Please show your support for local women with breast cancer by supporting our Think Pink! Campaign and getting involved with one of our many events.

Former Miss Northern Ireland, Judith Wilson helps to promote UCF's Think Pink! breast cancer awareness campaign.
